Hi Guys,

I have an Exmark 52 inch riding mower which I purchased over 2 years back. Since the last Monday though, the mower just seems to shut down without warning in the middle of a mowing session. I would have to keep restarting it, and the problem is becoming more frequent. The battery is less than a year old and I’ve always checked the fuel level before mowing. Any ideas what the problem could be?

Sounds like it could be an intermittent fuel pump issue – jump starting the battery would help determine if this is what’s causing it. If that doesn’t solve the problem, one of the safety switches could be shorting out. Go through the various safety switches and replace the faulty one. It just costs about $20 or so and they are easy to find. There‘s probably a blown fuse somewhere that just needs to be sorted out, that’s how I fixed my mower when this happened a few months back.
